ACCOUNT DELETION
Delete your SoWhaat account and its service data.
SoWhaat and I Seek You Too LLC provide an in-app deletion path and an external request path for people who cannot sign in or no longer have the app. Account deletion is permanent.
Delete from the Android app
- Sign in to the SoWhaat account you want to delete.
- Open Preferences.
- Select Delete Account.
- Read the permanent-deletion notice, enter your current password, and type DELETE.
- Select Permanently Delete Account.
A successful request signs out every active session and removes the deleted account's local history and saved session from that Android device.
Request deletion without the app
If you cannot sign in or no longer have the app, send a deletion request from the account's registered e-mail address to support@sowhaat.com. Include the UIN if you know it. Never include your password, verification code, session token, or another account secret.
Support may ask for a limited verification step to confirm that you control the account. After verification, the request will be completed as quickly as reasonably possible and you will receive a confirmation.
Data removed with the account
- login e-mail, password hash, verification records, and sessions;
- profile fields, visibility choices, presence, and privacy preferences;
- contacts, groups, aliases, authorization requests, and block-list entries;
- messages stored by the SoWhaat service in which the account is sender or recipient; and
- friend-invitation records associated with the account or registered e-mail.
What account deletion cannot erase
A message or profile detail that another person already received may remain in that person's local device history, screenshots, exports, or backups. SoWhaat cannot erase data from someone else's device. Other localSoWhaat installations you control may also keep device-only data until you clear that app's storage or uninstall it.
