RELEASE NOTES
SoWhaat 0.2.09a
A Windows update signed by I Seek You Too LLC.
What changed
- Improved connection checks and recovery after a lost connection, preserving your chosen status and pending message delivery.
- Optional Support Diagnostics for an authorized support request. Collection is off by default and requires your explicit, temporary consent.
- Consent expires at the agreed time, can be withdrawn immediately, and must be confirmed again after restarting the client.
- Diagnostic observations are limited to connection counters and phases, not message text, contacts, profile contents, passwords, tokens, or arbitrary logs.
- All 0.2.06a improvements remain, including SoWhaat artwork, keyboard shortcuts, unread taskbar counts, and automatic relaunch after signed updates.
Updating
Existing clients can use Menu → Check for Updates. The client verifies the complete installer before asking Windows to run it. The Windows permission prompt is expected: the verified publisher must be I Seek You Too LLC. After a successful update from 0.2.06a, the client should relaunch automatically.
Accounts and local history are preserved. This release does not change the messaging protocol or require a new server. Support Diagnostics availability is controlled separately on the server; an unavailable diagnostics service does not prevent normal chat.
Local message bodies remain protected by Windows DPAPI, tied to your Windows profile. Copying the history database to another account or computer is not an export or recovery method. The service does not provide end-to-end encryption.
Microsoft Store and the older download mirrors may still install 0.2.06a; use the in-app updater afterward to obtain this release.
