RELEASE NOTES

ICQ² 0.2.24a TUI for Linux

A small update to the public terminal alpha: its own help, demo, startup and installer labels now use the ICQ² superscript. Terminal layout, colors, commands and protocol behavior are unchanged.

Install from one file

  1. Download the DEB below and open it in your software installer.
  2. Click Install, then open the client from the application menu.

The bootstrap verifies the production-signed release. Accounts, local history, preferences and autostart choices are preserved. GUI and terminal installations remain separate.

Download ICQ² TUI 0.2.24a (.deb)

Automatic signed updates

The existing production Ed25519 key is unchanged. Each client keeps its own signed friends channel, stages verified updates for a safe restart and retains the previous working version for rollback.

icq2-update --status
icq2-update --check
icq2-update --rollback

Real signed-package upgrade, rollback, state preservation and fresh DEB bootstrap were checked. Automated connected-account tests were intentionally skipped; this is not a new claim of live-account testing.

Advanced manual install

Download the archive, its signature, the public key and install.sh into one directory. Verify the detached signature before installation.

chmod +x install.sh
./install.sh \
  --archive icq2-0.2.24a-linux-x86_64.tar.gz \
  --signature icq2-0.2.24a-linux-x86_64.tar.gz.sig \
  --public-key icq2-unix-update-public-key.pem \
  --manifest-url https://icq2.net/releases/unix/linux-x86_64/friends.manifest
